Movers of San Antonio moves apartments every day - studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and the awkward small jobs other companies turn down. Same two movers, same 26-foot truck, same $120-an-hour weekday rate as every other move we do. No surprise fees for stairs, elevators, or extra stops.
What an apartment move costs in San Antonio
Apartment moves are billed the same way as every move we do: two movers and a 26-foot truck by the hour, from $120 an hour on weekdays, plus a one-time $69.95 trip fee and a 2-hour minimum. Most one-bedroom apartments take 2 to 3 hours and most two-bedrooms take 2 to 4. Every rate, weekend price, and worked example is on our moving cost guide; this page is about what makes an apartment move different.
Small jobs and single items - yes, we do them
Need one couch moved across town, a few boxes taken to storage, or a single bedroom set delivered? We take those jobs. They are priced exactly like any other move: the 2-hour minimum plus the $69.95 trip fee, so a small weekday job is $309.95. If it takes less than two hours, you still pay the minimum - we say that up front so there is no surprise on the day.
Before we arrive: elevators and parking
Two things make an apartment move go fast, and both are yours to set up before moving day:
- Reserve the elevator. Most San Antonio apartment buildings and high-rises need the freight or service elevator booked through the leasing office or front desk. Book it for the window we agree on. If the elevator is not reserved and we have to wait or share it, that waiting time is on the clock.
- Arrange parking for the truck. Our truck is 26 feet long. Downtown, at the Pearl, in Southtown, and around the Medical Center, ask your building about a loading zone or reserve street space. A long walk from the truck to your door is the single biggest thing that adds time to an apartment move.
A third-floor walk-up with no elevator usually adds an hour to an hour and a half compared to a ground-floor unit, depending on the stairwell. Having everything boxed and labeled before we arrive is the biggest thing you control.
San Antonio apartment areas we move every week
North side: Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, Monte Vista, Castle Hills, and the 281 corridor. Central: the Medical Center, Downtown, the Pearl, Southtown, and King William. West and Northwest: Leon Valley, Helotes, the 1604 corridor, and the UTSA area. The suburbs: Schertz, Cibolo, Converse, Universal City, Boerne, and New Braunfels. If your apartment is not on this list, call us and we will tell you straight whether we cover it.
Move-out deadlines and inspections
Most San Antonio leases end on a set day, and the leasing office wants the unit empty and clean before the walk-through. Tell us your move-out date and your walk-through time when you book, and we will schedule the move so there is room to clean afterward. If your new place is not ready until later in the day, we can load in the morning and unload in the afternoon; the truck stays with your things the whole time.
The night before: five things that save you an hour
- Confirm the elevator reservation and the parking spot with the front desk.
- Box everything, including the kitchen and the closet floor. Loose items are the slowest things we move.
- Pull the TV off the wall and unplug the fridge if it is coming with you.
- Bag the bolts from any furniture you take apart and tape the bag to the piece.
- Prop the apartment door and clear a path from the door to the elevator.
What every apartment move includes
- Two professional movers and a 26-foot truck
- Moving blankets, dollies, straps, shrink wrap, and tape
- Fuel, taxes, and insurance
- No charge for stairs, after-hours moves, or multiple stops
Our movers are on salary, not paid by the hour, so nobody has a reason to stretch your move out.
